Hi, I’m Berkley—but my friends call me Berky Boy! 🐾💙

I may be a senior Chihuahua/Terrier mix, but I’ve still got plenty of love (and a little bit of sass) to give. I’m a well-behaved little gentleman who loves the simple things in life: treats, belly rubs, and burrowing under the blankets with my favorite humans. I came to the shelter because my family was expecting a new baby, and tiny humans just aren’t my thing. They’re eye-level, noisy, and a little too unpredictable for me. But don’t worry—I do just fine with older kids who look more like adults in my eyes! With grown-ups, I’m affectionate, loyal, and happiest as your snuggly couch potato companion.

Here’s what you should know about me: I eat kibble but sometimes like to mix things up with Fresh Pet (a guy likes variety!). I’m not used to being in a crate, but I’m trustworthy—when left alone, I am used to lounging in the laundry room with my bed, but I do bark if I know you’re just in the other room (I’m clever like that).

I’ve been known to get reactive on leash towards other neighborhood dogs, so a fenced yard is my favorite way to get my outside time. Thunderstorms and open doors are my enemies—storms make me nervous, and doors make me tempted to dart out for an adventure, so my new family will need to be watchful over me to keep me safe. At the end of the day, I’m a sweet, snuggly boy who just wants a quiet, loving home where I can be your little shadow. If you’re looking for a loyal lap warmer and blanket buddy, I’m your Berky Boy.
