Angelo is a 1-year-old Great Dane who truly believes he’s a lap dog—and honestly, we’re not here to tell him otherwise. This sweet, affectionate boy came to us with his partner after their previous family faced financial hardship, and he’s now ready to find a forever home where he can soak up all the love he deserves.
Angelo is a well-mannered, housebroken boy who already knows commands like “sit” and listens well. He absolutely loves attention and will happily climb into your lap (all 80+ pounds of him!) for cuddles. When he’s not snuggling, you can find him happily chewing on a large dog bone or chasing after his favorite tennis ball.
Like Marley, Angelo will thrive in a home that understands Great Danes—their size, their needs, and their big, loving personalities. While his partner Marley did undergo a gastropexy at the time of her spay, Angelo did not receive this surgery due to the healing process being difficult to manage in a shelter setting, so his future family should be knowledgeable about bloat risks and proper feeding routines for giant breed dogs.
Angelo tested well with other dogs and children, but because he showed signs that he will likely chase cats, we are recommending a no-cat home unless the adopter is very experienced with slow, structured introductions.
Angelo is available for adoption either with Marley ($600 total as a pair) or separately ($400 each individually). At the shelter, we have them housed separately to help Marley gain independence, as she leaned heavily on him. This also allows each of them the opportunity to find a home, even if adopting two giant dogs at once isn’t feasible.
If you’re looking for a gentle giant who will be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your best friend, Angelo is ready to fill that role 💙
