Meet Buddy – A Little Dog With a Big Heart! 🐾

Buddy is an 8-year-old Maltese looking for the loving forever home he deserves. He came to H.A.L.O. after his owner moved and was told her new housing would be pet friendly, only to find out that dogs were not allowed. Although it was an incredibly difficult decision, she returned Buddy because she wanted him to have the best life possible.

Buddy has already overcome a lot. After spending the first several years of his life without the care he needed, he found a loving owner who helped him learn what it means to be safe and loved. He enjoys a routine, loves his crate as his own little safe space, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys relaxing with his person. He is friendly with new people and has done well around children.

Buddy is a sweet boy with a few quirks that make him unique. He can be very protective of his food, so his meals will need to be respected and he should not be given high-value chews. A home willing to continue his routine and understand his needs will be the perfect fit.

Buddy has been diagnosed with tracheal damage, so he must be walked with a harness only and takes cough medication as needed. He also has a worn upper right canine tooth that may need to be removed in the future, though the rest of his teeth are in good shape after a dental cleaning earlier this year. Yearly dental care is recommended, and he benefits from liver support with Denamarin or milk thistle.
