Hi there! My name is Gizmo. I’m 5½ years old and only 33 pounds, making me the perfect medium-sized companion.

I’ve always been a loyal dog, but sadly I found myself at H.A.L.O. after my owner recently passed away. After that tragedy, I stayed with some family members for a little while, and that’s where we learned a few things about me. I do great with other dogs, and I also do great with children. I’ve never lived with cats, but I did well during my temperament test at H.A.L.O., so with a slow, proper introduction, I think the odds are on my side!

This whole situation has been pretty scary for me. There are lots of new smells, new sounds, and new faces, so I’ve been a little shy and closed off compared to my usual self. Because of that, I think kids 8 and up would be best so they understand that I just need things to go slow at first. But honestly… who isn’t shy at first? Take my word for it. I’m the best.

Once I open up, I’m an active, affectionate, well-behaved gal. I love playing with toys, but I can also be the perfect couch potato if that’s more your style. I’m a simple girl who’s just trying to fit in wherever I go.

I’m also housebroken, and I’m used to having the run of the house. I even know a few tricks. One of my favorites? Catching treats! Toss one my way, and I’ll catch every single one of them. No treats are left behind with me!
