Meet Caesar! 🐾❤️
At 15 years young, handsome long-haired Dachshund Caesar is ready to spend his golden years with someone who understands that senior dogs can come with a few extra quirks—and plenty of personality!
Caesar is a slow-to-warm-up kind of guy. He needs time to feel comfortable with new people and can be especially cautious around men and strangers entering his space. Once he knows you, he can be very sweet, particularly with women.
His future family should know that Caesar can be possessive of his food and has a history of nipping when uncomfortable. For this reason, an adult-only home or one with children over age 5 is ideal. He is also frightened by thunderstorms and has escaped during storms in the past, so keeping him safely secured during bad weather will be very important.
Caesar is currently foster-to-adopt while we monitor a few medical needs. He will need an eye-pressure recheck in a few months and is on a kidney-disease protocol that includes daily fluids, a kidney-supportive diet, and Azodyl. His kidney recheck is scheduled for one month, and H.A.L.O. will cover that appointment. He also has a small/low-grade heart murmur that his future veterinarian should be aware of.
Caesar isn’t looking for a perfect home—he’s looking for the right one. A quiet household, a patient person, and someone willing to let this little gentleman take his time could be exactly what he needs.
If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a big personality and plenty of golden years left to enjoy, come meet Caesar! 🐶💕
