George is an approximately 2-year-old Pit mix who has been through more than any dog should. He was found running along a busy highway, weaving through traffic, with red and sore paws from spending who knows how long walking on hot pavement. We later learned that George had reportedly been dumped in the area and had been surviving on his own for nearly a year. During that time, he was even hit by a car and suffered a broken paw that healed on its own.
Despite everything he’s been through, George never lost his trust in people. His finders spent two weeks caring for him, and they quickly discovered what a sweet, gentle, and incredibly loving boy he is. George loves being wherever his people are, happily following them from room to room and settling nearby when they sit down. He absolutely melts for belly rubs and back scratches, and his whole butt wiggles when he’s happy!
George also has a serious love for toys. He gently carries them onto the couch one by one until he has a whole collection beside him. And when it comes to tennis balls, this boy is a natural—he can catch one right out of the air! He knows how to sit, sleeps peacefully in his crate, and is a wonderful car rider who would make an excellent road-trip companion.
After spending so much time simply surviving, George is ready to learn what it’s like to truly belong. He deserves a soft bed, a pile of toys, a person to follow around, and a family who will love him for the rest of his life.
George has been through enough. Now it’s his turn to be someone’s spoiled, happy boy. ❤️
