Meet Goober! 🐾

Don’t let the name fool you—Goober may be a silly name, but this handsome 2½-year-old Cattle Dog is one smart, energetic guy who is ready for his next adventure! Goober came to H.A.L.O. after his family experienced a heartbreaking series of life changes that made it impossible for them to continue caring for him. Now, we’re hoping to help him find the active forever family he deserves.

Goober is housebroken, loves his chew toys, and has plenty of energy to share! Like any good Cattle Dog, he’s happiest when his body and brain are busy, so his ideal home will be one that enjoys walks, adventures, playtime, and giving him fun things to think about. A bored Goober may decide to create his own entertainment, so keeping that clever mind occupied will be important!

He has lived with another dog before and has done well meeting other dogs here at the shelter. He reportedly lived with a cat, too, but he has shown us that he thinks cats are much more exciting when they run—so a cat home would need to be prepared for slow introductions, supervision, and consistent guidance to teach Goober some polite feline manners.

Goober has a lot of love, personality, and adventure left to give. All he needs now is someone ready to keep up with his four paws, quick mind, and big personality—and show him that his next chapter can be his best one yet. ❤️
