Found as a stray, but never again. ❤️
Sweet little Arnold came to H.A.L.O. as a stray, and we estimate he’s about 4½ years old. We don’t know anything about his past but he’s currently in a foster home, and that’s where we really got to see just how amazing this boy is!
Arnold is great with kids, cats AND dogs. He’s so wonderful with other dogs that he’s even been used multiple times as a temperament-testing dog here at H.A.L.O.! He’s incredibly sweet, loves to cuddle, and even asks to go to the door when it’s time to potty. Talk about a good boy! ❤️
But as perfect as Arnold is, he was diagnosed with a soft palate, which means he does have some lifelong medical needs. His future family will need to be fully committed to understanding and supporting those needs throughout his life.
Arnold needs to eat his meals in a Bailey chair, and he needs his medication before both meals. After eating his prescription food, he needs to remain in his chair for about 15 minutes to allow him to properly digest.
His feeding schedule and medication routine are extremely important and must be followed consistently. If his routine isn’t followed, Arnold can vomit, which creates a risk of food or vomit being aspirated into his lungs and even cause pneumonia.
Because of this, Arnold needs a family who has the time to follow his feeding and medication schedule carefully and understands just how important his routine is.
Other than his special feeding routine, Arnold would fit wonderfully into so many different homes. He’s loving, friendly, social, and just an all-around fantastic little guy.
