If there’s one thing Abby wants you to know, it’s that life is simply better with snacks… and maybe a nap afterward.
This adorable 4-year-old Pug/Beagle mix found herself at H.A.L.O. after her beloved owner passed away and, despite everyone’s best intentions, there was no one able to continue caring for her. It’s a heartbreaking change for a dog who knew what it was like to have a home, and now she’s hoping someone will open their heart to her once again.
Abby is a lovable girl with a larger-than-life personality—and, admittedly, a larger-than-ideal waistline! While her pudgy figure certainly adds to her charm, we’ve started her on a weight management diet to help her shed a few pounds so she can enjoy many happy, healthy years ahead. She gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children, and when left home alone she’s content to spend most of her time snoozing until you return. She even knows how to “shake” and is always happy to show off her paw, especially if she thinks a treat might be involved.
Like any good Beagle mix, Abby can be a little clever when she wants to be. She’s been known to let herself out by opening doors if given the opportunity, so a watchful eye is a must. And if you’re looking for a swimming buddy… Abby would politely prefer to stay on dry land!
Abby has already experienced the heartbreak of losing the person she loved most. Now she’s simply hoping for another chance—a family to call her own, a cozy place to nap, and someone who will love her just as much as she’ll love them in return.
