Found strutting through a Winn-Dixie parking lot like he owned the place, Bean Pie was adopted and sadly returned after his adopter became very ill and could no longer keep up with this quirky little character. Now he’s a sturdy 45 lbs of attitude, adventure, and affection all rolled into one compact pup.

Bean Pie is part lizard hunter, part cuddle bug, and 100% entertaining. He loves car rides, gnawing on his favorite bone, soaking up affection, and just being a dog. He has big feelings about trucks (barking is his preferred language), and while he enjoys outings, leash manners are still a work in progress.

He’s house-trained and used to having free roam of the house. When left alone, he usually settles in for a nap, and at night, he’s happy snoozing in his bed or finding the coziest corner he can. Just keep an eye on the door because this clever boy won’t miss an open opportunity!

Bean Pie loves people and has a BIG personality. He can get mouthy when he’s overly excited during play, so he’d do best in a calm, experienced adult home without young children. He would also do best as your one and only, but he has done well with certain dogs his size, so a meet and greet can be arranged. No small animals, please.

Bean Pie came to us with a partial cruciate ligament tear, which means he may occasionally limp if he overdoes it. Most of the time, you wouldn’t even know it’s there, and it certainly doesn’t stop him from having fun. He just needs someone who can help him remember not to go too hard!

Bean Pie is only 5 years old and has spent far too much of his young life waiting for someone to choose him. He’s a favorite among both staff and volunteers, and we could go on and on about how great he is.
