This handsome hunk came to the shelter through no fault of his own after his previous owner faced financial and health hardships. Despite the changes in his life, Bruce has remained exactly what everyone describes him as: affectionate, gentle, relaxed, friendly, and wonderfully behaved.

Bruce has perfected the art of looking tough while secretly being a complete baby. Thunderstorms? Absolutely terrifying in Bruce’s opinion. The second the sky starts rumbling, this oversized sweetheart is searching for emotional support cuddles and reassurance from his humans. He finds joy in the simple things: long walks, stuffed toys, peanut butter-filled bones, and showing off his favorite trick. Tell him “tunnel,” and this chunky boy will happily weave through your legs like a goofy little show-off.

Bruce has done well with other dogs, cats, and kids, and he’s already housebroken — basically proving he’s ready to slide right into family life. Because of allergies that have caused recurring ear infections, Bruce is currently on a prescription hydrolyzed protein diet to keep him healthy and comfortable. His future family will need to continue that care, but Bruce repays every bit of effort with endless affection and unwavering loyalty. Some dogs make a loud impression — Bruce quietly settles into your heart, leans all 70+ pounds of himself against your legs, and suddenly you can’t imagine life without him.
