I was actually born in foster care here about 10 years ago, so you could say this place has known me all my life. Since then, I’ve bounced between homes a few times — not because I’m a bad boy, but because I’ve always needed a little extra time and understanding to build trust with new people and situations. Once I feel safe, though, I’m as loyal and loving as they come.
During my last stay, I joined the Homeward Bound program and spent a week with some great trainers who helped me meet new dogs, explore new environments, and gain confidence. I really blossomed! I was adopted into what I thought would be my forever home, but sadly, I came back when my beloved owner passed away unexpectedly. I’m adjusting well here again, but this time, I’m really hoping to find my true forever family.
I can live with other dogs as long as they don’t mind a friend who can be a bit pushy sometimes. Small kids make me nervous, but teenagers are totally fine. Cats, though… yeah, they’re not for me.
Now, I’ve got to be honest about one thing — I am highly food motivated. Like, really motivated. If it’s edible (and sometimes even if it’s not), I’m interested! Because I have very little self-control when it comes to snacks, my new family will need to help me keep my waistline in check. I’ll happily eat my way to a double chin if left to my own devices, and that’s just not great for a dog my age.
If you’ve got a patient heart, a sense of humor, and a knack for portion control, I might just be your perfect companion. I’ve been waiting a long time for my forever — maybe it’s finally with you. 💛
