Don’t let the name fool you—Chico Lou is actually a sweet senior lady looking for a soft place to land.

At 10 years old, Chico Lou found herself at H.A.L.O. through circumstances beyond her control after her beloved owner had to move into an assisted living facility. Before that, she had been adopted from another shelter at just 4 years old, so she’s spent the last six years knowing what it means to be loved. Now she’s hoping someone will open their heart to her once again.

This little Chihuahua mix is house trained, enjoys a peaceful routine, and would much rather spend her day relaxing by your side than causing any trouble. She absolutely loves belly rubs and is happiest soaking up affection from her favorite people.

Like many senior dogs, Chico Lou appreciates having her boundaries respected and can be a little opinionated from time to time, so we recommend a home with children 8 years and older. She has a gentle, easygoing personality and, based on what we’ve seen at the shelter, she seems like she’d fit in well with respectful cats or other dogs.
