Meet Elmont! 🤍
If there were an Olympic event for napping, couch lounging, and convincing people to share a french fry, Elmont would bring home the gold every time.
This 13-year-old Shih Tzu may be a senior, but don’t tell him that! He still loves meeting new people, making dog friends, and heading out for a stroll—just be ready, because this little guy can put some muscle into his leash! He’ll also need supervision outdoors, as he’s been known to wander off in search of his next adventure.
Elmont came to H.A.L.O. after his owner had to move overseas and couldn’t take him along. It’s easy to see he was well-loved, and now he’s hoping to find one more family to spend his golden years with.
At home, Elmont is happiest curled up beside his people, soaking up attention, and dreaming about his favorite snacks (ice cream, chips, and french fries are at the top of his list!). He prefers calmer canine companions over wild youngsters and thinks thunderstorms are best enjoyed from the safety of a cozy blanket. Like any distinguished gentleman, he can also be a little protective of his favorite treats and toys.
Elmont will need to stay on a prescription urinary diet to help prevent urinary crystals. The good news? We took X-rays to make sure, and he currently has no bladder stones!
If you’re looking for a sweet, funny little sidekick who will happily fill your home with love, snores, and the occasional request for a snack, Elmont is ready to meet you!
