Hi there! My name’s Khalid, and I’m a little guy with a big heart and a story to tell. I came to the shelter with my seven housemates — most of them have already found their families, so now it’s my turn to find mine!

When I first arrived, I had these things called cherry eyes (don’t worry, they weren’t actual cherries!), but the nice people here got me all fixed up, and I don’t need any medication going forward. I’m feeling so much better now and ready to enjoy life!

I’m a happy boy who loves to be near people, though I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of being picked up — it just makes me a little nervous. New people and situations can also be a bit scary for me, so I’ll need a family that understands I might take some time to warm up. Once I trust you, I’ll be your little shadow and fill your days with joy.

Because I can be nervous and quick on my feet, my friends here say I’m what they call a “flight risk.” That means I’ll need a home with a securely fenced yard or someone who can make sure I’m always safe when doors open or when I’m outside. If I get scared and someone tries to chase me, I tend to run even farther — so patience, calm reassurance, and some tasty treats will go a long way with me!

I’m partially housebroken, but I’m smart and eager to please, so with a consistent routine, I’ll pick things up quickly.
