Nelson is a sweet boy who absolutely adores his people and is happiest when he’s by your side—whether you’re out on an adventure or just relaxing at home.

He’s got some fun tricks up his sleeve too! Nelson knows how to “sit,” “speak,” “paw,” and he’s got a nose that loves to explore the world. He’s also a car ride enthusiast—he’ll hop right in and settle down for the journey, ready to go wherever the road leads.

Recently, Nelson joined a volunteer for an off-site event and showed just how great a companion he can be. He was curious and excited to explore, pulling a bit at first on his walk but quickly responding to gentle correction. He even put on the brakes a couple of times, but with a little encouragement, he was happy to follow along. After the walk, he calmly lay beside his volunteer, enjoying the sights, greeting people, and watching golf carts go by.

Nelson loves treats (takes them gently or catches them mid-air!) and in just a short time showed he’s playful, affectionate, and ready to bond. He gives sweet kisses and knows how to relax when it’s time to wind down.

While Nelson gets along well with people, he can be selective about his dog friends. He tends to prefer calm, respectful dogs over those with overly energetic or “puppyish” energy. A proper introduction will go a long way in helping him feel comfortable.

Nelson would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal, loving companion who enjoys both fun and downtime.
