Hi! I’m Pico — just a little guy hoping the best part of my story starts with you!

When I first meet new people or find myself in a new place, I tend to go into what the humans here call “freeze mode.” I just need a little time to make sure everything’s safe. But once I realize I’m loved? Oh boy — get ready for full-body wiggles, happy hops, and me practically tripping over myself just to be near you. I’m affectionate, energetic, and truly just want to be someone’s shadow.

I came to this shelter from another one, so no one really knows what my past looked like. That means I might need a refresher on house training and basic manners… or I might already have it all down! It’s a bit of a mystery, but I promise I’m worth it either way.

One more thing: I tested positive for heartworms. The great news is that the shelter is covering my full treatment, which starts at the end of August. I’ll need to stay calm for a couple of months during recovery, so we’re all hoping I can find a home before then — it would be so much nicer to rest and heal in a cozy house instead of a kennel. Once I’ve finished treatment, I’ll also be getting neutered and have a small hernia repaired at the same time.
