Meet Pippin

🐾 Meet Pippin 🐾

This beautiful shepherd mix may not have arrived with much of a backstory, but one thing is clear, Pippin is a survivor. She was found rummaging through a garbage can, simply trying to fill her belly. Now she’s ready for a fresh start with a loving family.

Pippin is looking for a family willing to invest in her and help her continue to grow. She recently spent some time in a home, where she showed that she can be wary of new people, especially men, and may vocalize that in bark form to let you know she’s unsure. She needs slow introductions to people and new environments. Give her the chance to settle in, and you’ll discover the wonderful dog beneath her cautious exterior. She’s smart, energetic, curious, and absolutely loves to cuddle!

At just 2 years old, Pippin is basically a puppy who may have missed out on some of the guidance and life skills young dogs typically learn. She’ll thrive with an adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement while helping her become the best version of herself.

Pippin would do best in a home with children 5 years and older who can respect her space while she adjusts. She’s done well with other dogs, though she can be selective with male dogs at times. As always, we introduce dogs before adoption to help ensure a good match. Pippin is looking for a cat-free home.

Pippin isn’t fully house-trained yet, but she’s been keeping her kennel clean here at the shelter, and during her short stay in a home she was trying her best. With a consistent routine and continued guidance, she’s likely to catch on quickly.

Pippin isn’t just searching for a home, she’s searching for someone who will believe in her. In return, she’ll reward you with loyalty, intelligence, affection, and plenty of cuddles.

Could Pippin be your next adventure buddy? 🐶💛
