Hi there, I’m Sage! 🌿

Life has thrown me some curveballs, but I’m still wagging my tail and ready to find my forever family. My previous owners brought me to the vet to be put to sleep, but the kind people there didn’t think that was necessary. Instead, one of them took me home to foster until I could come here—and that’s how I got my second chance.

Before that, I spent most of my time outside on a tie-out, so I didn’t get to learn much about being part of a home. Luckily, my foster family helped me discover the dog I was always meant to be! Now we know that I’m crate trained, housebroken, and happiest when I have people guiding me. I do have some silly habits, like sneaking food off counters if no one reminds me not to—but I really want to please, and I learn quickly with a little structure and patience.

I’ve also proven to be a bit of an escape artist (yes, I can open sliding and lever-handled doors—oops 😅). So, a secure setup will be important for me. I get along well with dogs my own size, but small animals aren’t a good match for me because of my strong prey drive.

Now, for the fun stuff: I love car rides. Seriously—if I see a car, I want to hop right in! I also used to be storm-scared, but with time and trust, I’ve grown so much braver. My crate is now my safe space, and I go there to feel secure when things get loud outside.

I’m looking for a home that sees my potential and wants to keep helping me shine. I’ve already proven that with love, patience, and a little guidance, I can thrive. Could you be the one to give me the forever home I’ve been waiting for?
