Hi, I’m Sasha—a beautiful Husky mix with a big heart and big energy!

My life’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I was rescued off the side of the road in Philly as a tiny 4-week-old puppy, found homes twice, but was returned each time—through no fault of my own. I’m just waiting for the right person who understands me and my breed.

I’ll be honest: I’m a lot of dog. I’m smart, high-energy, and sometimes anxious, especially in the shelter. I’ve done well with other dogs before, but here my nerves can get the better of me. If I join a home with another pup, we’ll likely need a few meet-and-greets to ease into things. I’d do best in a home with kids 12 and up, and I’m not a fan of cats.

At home, I do really well with a routine. I quickly adapt my potty schedule, don’t destroy things, and am happy as long as I have a good bone to gnaw on. I like having my kennel available with the door open so I can come and go as I please. And if you’re willing to hand out belly rubs, I’ll happily flop over on my back to soak them up!

What you’ll love about me: I’m affectionate and love to cuddle, I know lots of commands (my release word is “OK”), I adore running in the grass, chasing balls, and chewing bones. I’m attentive, always waiting for the next activity, and I travel best in a covered crate in the car to keep me calm.

The shelter team has started me on anxiety meds to help me settle into this weird new environment, and are hoping to see some positive changes soon. But with the right person by my side, I know I’ll shine as the loyal, loving, and adventurous companion I’m meant to be.
