Hi, I’m Tosa—a bashful beach boy with a big heart and a soft spot for ice cubes.
I was rescued with 19 other pups after Hurricane Debby when our owner fell seriously ill. Everything changed overnight, but thanks to some amazing humans, I’m getting a fresh start. I’ve made huge strides—especially with leashes (they used to be terrifying!). Now, I’ve even discovered that long walks on the beach at sunset are kind of my jam.
I was recently adopted, but came back because I’ve still got a few hiccups in the house-training department. Oops. I’m working on it, I promise! A consistent routine, plenty of potty breaks, and a cozy crate when you can’t keep an eye on me will help me learn the ropes. Bonus: H.A.L.O. offers free training sessions to support us both!
I’m happiest in calm, quiet homes—especially ones with other dogs. Canine friends help me feel braver and more at ease. Little kids can be a bit too much for me, so older or mellow households are more my speed.
My favorite hobbies? Burying toys, digging like a tiny archaeologist, chasing ice cubes like they owe me money, and curling up in a crate with a tasty marrow bone.
If you’ve got patience, a fenced yard, and a big heart, I just might be your perfect little project—and your most loyal sidekick.
