Sometimes, you find a dog. And sometimes, a tiny little head finds YOU. 😂
Wiley is an approximately 1-year-old mystery girl who came to us after a kind Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission staff member spotted something peeking out from between the tall grass while driving down a backroad. At first glance, he thought he might have stumbled across a baby coyote! Naturally, he pulled over to investigate—and discovered that the “coyote” was actually one very cute, very spunky little pup.
Wiley spent the rest of the day hanging out with FFWC employees as their official “office dog” while her finder searched for her family. When no owner could be located, she made her way to us, where she has quickly become a staff favorite.
We don’t know much about Wiley’s past, but we’re learning more about her personality every day. What we do know is that she is adorable, full of personality, and ready for her next adventure. She’s got just the right amount of sass to keep things interesting and the kind of face that makes it nearly impossible to say no to her. ❤️
We’ve also learned a little more about Wiley through her temperament testing here at the shelter. She can be particular about her canine companions and wasn’t a fan of meeting a dog larger than herself or a dog her size who was especially energetic. However, when introduced to a smaller, more laid-back dog, Wiley was perfectly comfortable and had no issues. She also did well during her cat test, and we feel her personality would be a good fit for a home with children.
Her history may be a mystery, but her future doesn’t have to be. Wiley is ready to leave her days of hiding in the Florida grass behind and find a family who will love her for all the goofy, wonderful, spunky little dog she is.
Come meet Wiley and see if this little “coyote” is actually the perfect dog for you!
