Some hearts are simply meant to stay together. ❤️
If you ask Winston and Colby what makes a perfect day, the answer is pretty simple: wake up next to their person, enjoy a few treats, take a leisurely stroll, hop in the car for an adventure, claim a cozy spot on the couch… and end the day snuggled under the blankets together.
These two sweet Shih Tzus have spent their lives knowing what it means to be loved.
Their owner adored them beyond words, but when life took an unexpected turn, they made the heartbreaking decision to bring Winston and Colby to H.A.L.O. so the dogs would never have to face that hardship themselves. It was one final act of unconditional love—and now we’re hoping to help them find the next chapter they deserve.
Winston has never met a lap he didn’t want to curl up in, greets everyone like an old friend, and thinks every conversation should include him. Tell him he’s handsome, and you’ll have a best friend for life. Colby is just as affectionate but a little more sensitive to thunderstorms, which send him searching for a safe hiding place, though a few reassuring words (and maybe a tasty treat) are usually enough to remind him everything will be okay.
Both boys are potty trained, love short walks, enjoy car rides, and are fantastic little travel companions. They were welcome on the furniture in their previous home (they’ll happily remind you of that!), and sleeping in bed with their people has always been one of their favorite traditions.
Because they’re such gentle souls, they’d love a peaceful home where life moves at a slower pace. Loud arguments, thunderstorms, and intimidating larger dogs aren’t really their style. What they do love is kindness, routine, soft blankets, warm laps, and each other.
Winston and Colby have already found their soulmate—in one another. Now they’re just waiting for the person who’s ready to give both of them a lifetime of love, belly rubs, bedtime cuddles, and the happy ending they so deeply deserve.
