Dear Rescue Friend,

In a life filled with the responsibility of hundreds of animals, my biggest fear is a natural disaster.

As we welcome summer (and Hurricane season), most people are planning their evacuation plans while I am busy creating a Disaster Response Plan with the hope that in the event of a devastating storm, we have what we need to keep our animals and the people who care for them safe, as well as being prepared to help our community.

Thanks to your help, we celebrated a huge accomplishment for this Plan last year by purchasing and installing a Commercial Emergency Generator to keep us from a devastating power loss.

This year our attention quickly turned back to building preparedness when a pesky roof leak started to become more of a problem to the interior of the shelter. After calling multiple roofing companies the answer was unanimous…our roof is in dire need of replacement. A sigh, as this was not on any page of my Plan, but it is now imperative to replace it before a major storm.

I once again turn to our community for your support to ensure that we are as prepared as possible to ride out the storms with a promise that no animal will ever be left behind!

Believing in Miracles,

Jacque Petrone
Executive Director
