Dear Rescue Friends,
We are overjoyed with the success of the Clear the Shelters adoption campaign and we appreciate YOU, our community, for your help in changing lives for the better!
Since the beginning of the year, over 1800 applications have come into H.A.L.O. for pet surrenders, along with phone calls, walk-ins, and shelter and vet transfer pleas.
We are navigating the turbulent waters of the rising costs of care, increased volume of surrenders, and reduced donations as best we can.
Today, the average cost to provide housing, in-shelter care, food, and medical for ONE animal is $900 from entry to adoption, only if there is no major medical.
Because of this, we are limiting intakes at this time. We hope to resume full operations to our community as soon as we know we can honor our commitment to lifesaving care.
